Because It Does

In C. S. Lewis' book Mere Christianity he talks about being "Heavenly minded." Lewis makes the point that when all one does is focus on Earth, and Earth's possessions, he will lose both Heaven and Earth simultaneously. But, if one were only to be "Heavenly minded"--to give every action an eternal value--they will get Earth "thrown in," so to speak. I believe Lewis is right. Think with me for a moment . . . if you woke up every day knowing that today was going to matter forever, wouldn't you live that day with everything you've got? (I know I would . . . and should) Yet if Christians say that we believe the Bible, shouldn't we know that every day matters? Shouldn't we live like it does? Yes, yes we should! But we cannot do it on our own. So let's ask Yahweh for help. I know He will be more than happy to give us the strength. He wants us to live every day like it will matter forever. Because it does.
